Specy a la McCain :D
Baraka @ Rickshaw Diaries tagged me and I’m to make a list of ten places in my country where I would want to own a home a la McCain. This is one of the hardest tags I’ve ever done because I couldn’t find ten different places; they all were the same: mountains and greenery. I had to think a good long while because you know what they say about some words being granted as soon as they come out of your mouth! Cross your fingers and here we go!
THE RULES:
The McCains own 13 cars, eight homes and have access to a corporate jet. If you were as insanely rich as them, where would your eight homes be and why?
The only rule is: The homes must be within the borders of the country you live in, so as to utterly emulate the McCains.
When you’re done, tag 8 people, so that they may join in the self-indulgence, forgetting about the crappy property market and the equivalent of The End of Pompeii on Wall-Street. You could spend your time hammering your doors and windows shut in preparation for the Apocalypse, but this meme is so much more fun!
1. Islamabad. Need I say why?
2. A mansion in the Soan valley just outside Islamabad
3. Nathiagali…more specifically, the Governor House. Now how I may get there is…a problem. I don’t want to be the Governor (yeah, they’re outside my door begging me, y’know) and the last thing in the world I want is to be married to a politician. So, erm…okay… I don’t want to have a governor son/daughter either (*gasp* I sound like my mum!), so whatever. I just dig this place!
4. Neelum Valley: I’d live in a place like this:
and my window will look out on this:
5. Abbottabad.
6. Lahore
7. Karachi…yep, I’m gonna have one in all major cities!
8. Cholistan. Somewhere near the Darrawar Fort.
9. Gwadar. For no other reason than traveling on the Makran Coastal Highway.
Its beautiful; its empty; Has the desert on one side, sea on the other… it makes me itch for a 3200cc Mercedes’ steering, (manual drive, of course). And of course…Gwadar’s a beautiful place to live.
10. Hyderabad. For some reason, I’ve always fancied that city. No reason, really.
The next eight to make a wish-list: Marigold, Saadat, Mubi, Sami, Boba, FalakK, Feesa and ‘Liya.
Oh, and I did 10. Because property in Pakistan is cheaper.

*sigh*
and wow, mashAllah Nelaam Valley is such a beauty!!!

This is another cool tag! I’m going to do this one too.
The mountains are breathtaking, as is Neelam Valley. You have an awesome taste in homes specs.
I TOTALLY love Nathiagali’s Governor House. A dream house!
And I can sooo relate to that need for a 3200cc Mercedes, cruising at the coastal highway would be so damn much fun!! Yes, I am Lahori so it goes without saying that I drive like a maniac!

This is a cool tag but do you know how many I have to get caught up on… sorta like emails
Awww, all these places look wonderful!
Thanks for tagging me, Specs. Finally I have something except dots and dashes to put on my blog.
My answers are going to be pretty similar to yours, though.
(Except that I won’t be driving a Mercedes on the Makran Highway, but a Ducati 1098 super bike — probably earning a ticket as well.)
Breathtaking views! I’d love to live in those places too – as long as there’s internet connection
Who knew scenes in pakistan could be soo breath-taking! beautiful
Pakistani zindabad!

Marry an Army dude and all your wishes will come true

Yaar, I have to do this too. I forgot!
U sure do choose your places well. If my window also looked out to such a breath-taking view of the mountains, I don’t think I would get out of bed. I would just lie there and stare at the view the whole day haha. Nice post
Pakistan is so beautiful – I miss it.
Love your #3 & 4 – thanks for doing the meme!

Wow! you sure are imaginative. I like your choice of places.I have never been to Neelum valley but I have been always fascinated by its pictures, sooo amazing. I would like to stand in one end of that valley and call out my name loud and hear it echo back to me
I want that view from your window too!
If you go and live there I’ll move in!
